Who we are
BactCounter is a mobile application for counting bacterial colonies from Petri dish images. Contact: salmajaoua@gmail.com.
Data we collect
- Google Sign-In data (scopes:
openid,email,profile) to authenticate you and maintain your account. - User content: images you upload, counters, session metadata saved in the app.
- Diagnostics: aggregate logs/crash reports (where enabled by your device settings) to improve stability.
How we use data
- Authenticate you and keep your session active.
- Sync and restore your counters across devices.
- Operate, maintain, and improve the app (including troubleshooting and safety).
Sharing and processors
We do not sell personal data. We use trusted processors to provide services:
- Google/Firebase — authentication and cloud storage under their respective terms and policies.
Retention
We retain your account data and saved counters while your account is active. If you delete your account or request deletion, we delete associated personal data, subject to lawful retention requirements.
Your choices
- Export or delete content in-app where available.
- Request deletion or account closure via the Delete Account page or by emailing salmajaoua@gmail.com.
Security
Data is transmitted over HTTPS. We apply reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to protect personal data.
Google API Services User Data Policy
BactCounter’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs to any other app adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
